Ever wonder what to do with kohlrabi? Or quinces? Perhaps you’re tired of the usual sweet potato casserole, and you’d like some new ideas for your Thanksgiving table.

If so, join baker, food writer, novelist, and Edgewater resident, Jane Ward, for a morning full of tips, tastes, and recipes for cooking with the best seasonal vegetables and fruits of the region. This is an opportunity to ask cooking questions and learn how to prepare produce that is unfamiliar to you.

Friends’ member and Programming Committee Co-Chair, Jane Ward has varied work experience in the food and hospitality fields: as private events planner for a Boston catering company and Chicago’s 95th Restaurant; as recipe writer and host of video cooking instruction for MPN Online/Eagle Tribune newspapers; and as the weekend baker at a Massachusetts bakery. She also is the author of two novels, Hunger and The Mosaic Artist.

Join us in the Betty A. Barclay Community Room on the 2nd floor of the Edgewater Branch Library and perk your kitchen up this autumn!

Presented by Friends of the Edgewater Library.
