  • Chicago Public Library | Edgewater Branch (map)

Susan Rossen and John Chalmers discuss the book they planned and edited about the top 101 books that have helped define the city and its image. Chicago by the Book profiles landmark publications about Chicago from the past 170 years.

Each title — carefully selected by the Caxton Club, a venerable Chicago bibliophilic organization — is the focus of an illustrated essay by a leading scholar, writer, or bibliophile. They will discuss the process for selecting the books and highlight some of the essays that accompany each of the book selections.

Copies of the book will be for sale and may be autographed, and a selection of the books will be available to be checked out of the library.

Sponsored by Friends of the Edgewater Library and the Edgewater Branch Library.
