Wrap up our National Library Week celebration and get to know another side of the Edgewater Branch Library and Friends of the Edgewater Library at an open house and brief presentation. Light refreshments will be served and we’ll have a special treat for all who attend.
UPDATE: Alderman Harry Osterman will be joining us for this open house to welcome everyone! Don’t miss what one of our biggest fans has to say about the importance of our Edgewater Branch Library and the work done by Friends in support of our community!
Meet Branch Librarian Joanna Hazelden, who will walk you through the Chicago Public Library website and plug into the many activities that the Edgewater Branch has available.
We’re also launching the Friends of the Edgewater Library website. Come “Find A World of Friends” with Friends’ President Michael Meyer, who will talk about the partnership with the Edgewater Branch Library and other businesses and community organizations. Friends’ member and webmaster Joanna Broussard will familiarize you with the new Friends’ website. You’ll see what Friends’ members are up to and learn how you can play with this active and fun group to support the Edgewater Branch Library.
We’ll also have several book tables featuring some of the the latest popular titles, as well as books from many of the programs hosted during the past few months by Friends and the Library. Check out books from “What We’re Reading” and recent presentations on Women of the Irish Revolution, Herman Melville, 101 Books That Shaped Chicago, Louisa May Alcott and many more.
There’s lots to celebrate as we close out National Library Week. Come Find A World Of Friends at the Edgewater Branch Library!
