Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world. — Harriet Tubman

In honor of Women’s History Month, join us to hear the words of abolitionist and political activist, Harriet Tubman, performed by local actress, director, and playwright, Cynthia Maddox.

Check out Cynthia’s performance at South Suburban College in 2018 on YouTube. Check out the NPR’s On Point story on the recently released biopic, Harriet.

This event will be held in the Betty A. Barclay Community Room, 2nd Floor, Edgewater Library.

Presented by Friends of the Edgewater Library as part of our March celebration, “Stories of Freedom.”
