Who didn’t read at least one Nancy Drew book whether as a teenager or young adult - or are you secretly keeping your stash under the bed as an adult? For anyone who loves a good mystery as a reader or writer, your love affair with this genre likely started with a Nancy Drew book.

Join us on Wednesday, October 20, at 7 p.m. as we chat with one of the foremost authors on Nancy Drew, Jenn Fisher, in conversation with physician by day, crime novelist by night, Alexia Gordon. Register now.

Grab your magnifying glasses and join Jenn and Alexia as they sleuth through Nancy's mysterious history behind the scenes. Learn all about the Stratemeyer Syndicate that created Nancy Drew and other similar popular series. Learn about the ghostwriters and illustrators who helped bring Nancy Drew to life and some interesting highlights about the series from over the past 90 years.

We'll discuss how and why Nancy Drew has remained so popular for over 90 years, and now, is a pop culture icon. We’ll explore the ways in which she's been an inspiration to generations of loyal readers, and writers like Alexia.

Jennifer Fisher is a Nancy Drew consultant and author. Her book, Clues for Real Life: The Classic Wit & Wisdom of Nancy Drew was published in 2007. She is currently writing a biography on Native Iowan Mildred Wirt Benson, the first Carolyn Keene to write the Nancy Drew series, who was a real life Nancy Drew.

Fisher is also president of the Nancy Drew fan group, The Nancy Drew Sleuths, and plans their annual conventions and handles the officially licensed Nancy Drew merchandising lines. She ecently donated her entire Nancy Drew collection to the Toledo Public Library and it is located in The Mystery Room in the children's section of the downtown main library.

A writer since childhood, Alexia Gordon continued writing through college but put literary endeavors on hold to finish medical school and Family Medicine residency training. With her medical career established, she returned to writing fiction.

Dr. Gordon won a Lefty Award and multiple Lone Star Literary Bloggers’ Choice Awards, was nominated for an Agatha Award, became a finalist for a Silver Falchion Award, and was chosen one of Suspense Magazine‘s best debuts of 2016.

She is a member of Sisters in Crime, Mystery Writers of America, International Thriller Writers, and the Crime Writers of Color.

Dr. Gordon blogs with the Miss Demeanors, one of Writers’ Digest‘s 2017 Best 101 Websites for Writers, and hosts the Cozy Corner with Alexia Gordon podcast.

Originally from the Mid-Atlantic region, Dr. Gordon bounces around the country chasing day jobs. Wherever she lands, she indulges her love of art, music, fine whiskies, needlework, and ghost stories.
