Here’s your chance! Whether you’re a writer for fun or a published author, we want to hear your stories in our first open mic event - Flash Fiction | Writers on the Edge. Register to attend.
For this event, we define Flash Fiction as very short stories ranging from a few words and up to, but not more than 500 words. Anyone from anywhere age 16 and up can register to read a story. You’ll have four minutes, including a short introduction that includes your name, location, and context for the story, to read your work. See the link to the complete guidelines below.
Please remember that this is an all-age audience so no inappropriate language. We don’t want to have mute you, so we encourage you to edit out the bad stuff and time yourself reading beforehand.
Registration is limited to the first 30 participants to sign-up, on a first-come, first-serve basis. We will proceed with as many of these participants as possible in 90 minutes; we will also have a waitlist. We will also be recording this event for playback on our website.
Read and download the complete guidelines. Register to read.
If you plan to read a work, you also must register to attend so you can enter the Zoom room.
We can’t wait to hear from the many flash fiction writers out there! Please join us for what promises to be a fantastic event.
Presented by Friends of the Edgewater Library in conjuncion with the Edgewater Branch Library.
