Barclay Community Room, 2nd Floor | Colleen Taylor Sen, a culinary historian who specializes in writing about the food of the Indian Subcontinent, will share the story of a Far South Side community of South Asians from the early 20th century to the present. She’ll also talk about the evolution of the city’s South Asian grocery stores and restaurants, including the transformation of Devon Avenue from a mainly Jewish shopping district in the 1960s to a mecca for South Asian shoppers from all over the Midwest. | Register here. | Please note there may be a scheduling change, so please be sure to register so we can notify you.
