Find The Library At Your Place
Each year National Library Week (April 19-25, 2020) is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation's libraries and library workers and to promote library use and support. Before the pandemic, the original theme for the week was “Find your place at the library.” Now with Chicago Public Libraries (CPL) closed, CPL changed the theme, appropriately, to “Find the library at your place.”
If you’re looking for reading material, now may be the time to explore what our libraries are continuing to offer. You still can access free ebooks, e-audiobooks, movies, music, magazines, and television shows and download them onto your electronic devices such as e-readers, tablets, smartphones, laptops, and desktops.
You also may check out books and ebooks and e-audiobooks via your computer or Kindle through the library’s free Libby platform. If you don’t have a library card you may obtain an ecard through the CPL website.
Remember our librarians, library staff, and Friends of the Edgewater Library who are working behind the scenes to bring virtual content to you. They’re just as eager to restore the library’s services to the community as we are to see that happen. You’re invited to send suggestions for online programs or comments about your appreciation to the Edgewater Branch Library and its staff.
